Better support for family caregivers during the corona pandemic!

BAGSO appeals to the federal, state and local authorities to provide better support for relatives providing care during the current corona pandemic. About three quarters of those in need of care and two thirds of those suffering from dementia live at home. Most of them are looked after by relatives alone. The measures taken to date to protect those in need of care in the home and to relieve the burden on family carers are not sufficient. In its urgent recommendations to politicians, BAGSO calls for precautions to protect against infection with the coronavirus in domestic care, measures to ensure care and to support relatives providing care.
